  Tigers in India are more than just magnificent animals—they are a symbol of national pride and ecological importance. With over 70% of the world’s wild tiger population, India plays a critical role in global tiger conservation. The tiger, India’s national animal, represents strength, courage, and grace, and its presence is vital for maintaining healthy forest ecosystems.  India is home to five major tiger landscapes—Shivalik Hills & Gangetic Plains, Central India & Eastern Ghats, Western Ghats, North-East Hills & Brahmaputra Flood Plains, and the Sundarbans mangroves—each supporting unique tiger populations and habitats. Project Tiger, launched on April 1st, 1973, marked a major step in conservation, starting with 9 reserves and expanding to over 50 tiger reserves covering more than 71,000 sq. km. You can also take a train to Haridwar or Rishikesh and continue by road. The best time to visit Auli for snow and skiing is from December to March . If you want to enjoy greenery and trekking, then April to June is a good time. Auli is famous for skiing, snowboarding, cable car rides , and short treks like Gorson Bugyal . Don’t miss the Auli Ropeway , which gives amazing views of the Himalayas . Nearby places like Joshimath , Valley of Flowers , and Badrinath can also be added to your trip.
